Abstract
This research evaluated the trends of annual rainfall in Binh Dinh province during the periods from 1980-2019. This study applies non-parametric Mann-Kendall test (with α =0.1) and Sen’s slope method. This paper evaluates at 9 Gauge-stations in Binh Dinh province. The results are evaluated based on statistical analysis at a meaningful level of α = 0.1 (the probability of making a type I mistake is 10%). The results show that most of the annual rainfall in 5/9 stations have tend to increase such as; Vinh Kim, Dinh Binh, Phu Cat, Quy Nhon, Hoai Nhon stations and 4/9 stations tend to decrease such as An Nhon, Binh Nghi, Vinh Son, An Hoa stations; of which Binh Nghi, Vinh Son and An Hoa stations are automatic rain measurement stations from 2005-2019. Althought with non-parametric Mann-Kendall test the Vinh Kim, Hoai Nhon, Vinh Son stations ensures statistical significance (α =0.1) with the corresponding rate of increase and decrease is; 12.1 mm/year and 10.3 mm/year and -45.7 mm/year. The research has also provided the locality with a research tool on climate, helping agencies and organizations better understand the climate characteristics, understand the climate characteristics better, and have strategies and solutions to adapt and mitigate the impacts of change of rainfall on the local Socio-Economic
